Start your yoga session by pronouncing “OM” (ॐ ) aloud and repeat 11 times. It creates good and effective vibration. Diabetes is often called the "mother of all diseases." That is why Baba Ramdev has created a yoga session for diabetics and to help them get rid of the disease.

In the beginning, a person with diabetes has to do Bhastrika Pranayama for about 30 minutes every day. One should have good knowledge about coins while practicing pranayama. The energy that is created through the practice of meditation or pranayama is transferred to the body through mudras. That is why we need to have a good knowledge of coins.

When making a coin, touch the tip of your finger to the tip of your thumb. Keep the other three fingers straight.

Follow these simple steps to practice Bhastrika Pranayama at home: -

Bhastrika Pranayam


Sit in Vajrasana position while doing Bhastrika Pranayama. Now place your hands on your knees and close your eyes. Always remember, you need to relax your body completely before the session starts. Here, you should breathe full and slowly through both nostrils until your lungs are full of air. Then exhale forcefully with both nostrils. 

Try to do this 10 to 15 times a day. You do not have to apply force while inhaling, but you do need to apply force while exhaling


1. Kapalbhati is one of the best options for diabetics. If a diabetic person practices this technique regularly, then of course he can control his disease. It is a very effective form of pranayama. Sit on the floor in a comfortable cross-legged position. Take a deep breath and then exhale quickly, make a sound. Always remember when doing the forehead, you need to exhale forcefully and quickly and breathe slowly and deeply. Continue this 10 times and then release. It acts as a boon for diabetics and helps in disease control.

2. Anulam-vilom is another way to treat this disease. Anulam vilom is also known as alternative nasal breathing. Here, you need to close the right nostril and breathe with the left nostril. Then immediately close the left nostril and exhale through the right nostril. Try to breathe slowly and deeply by changing the nose in this way.

Three pranayamas help to de-stress and treat this disease. Asanas are also effective and the best option for treating diabetes. 

3. Mandukasana: Sit on the floor in the position of Vajrasana. Now make the fists of both your hands and place them on your abdomen in such a way that the joint comes over the navel. Press both fists against your stomach. Now try to touch the ground with your forehead. Try to bend down as much as possible. Hold this position for 20 seconds and then release.

4. Ardha Matsyendrasana: Sit with your feet in front. Bend your knees, place your feet on the floor and slide your left foot under your right foot. Place the left foot on the outer floor. Stand on the floor outside your left hip with the right leg extended over the left leg. Press the right hand against the floor just behind your right hip, and set your left upper hand to the outside of your right thigh near the knee. The right knee will point directly towards the ceiling. Here, you need to exhale and move to the inside of your right thigh. Hold this position for about 30 seconds and then release. Try it any other way.

5. Vakasarna: For this you have to sit in a comfortable cross-legged position. Now, place your right hand on the left knee of your left hand. Try twisting your body to the left. Be sure to keep your posture straight. Try to do this in the right direction too.
